This photograph resulted from me performing a Freeman Patterson exercise. I was out with my camera, but finding nothing inspiring. So I stopped in the middle of a snowy meadow, and said to myself, "I'll make a photograph from here, no matter what." And so, by looking around me more actively, I found this tiny sapling almost right at my feet. I made two pictures of it, with different framing (I only have one scanned, for now), and still like them both very much.
